Dr. Terry O'Banion

Dr. Terry O達anion, Director of the Community College Leadership Program at Walden University, is a recognized leader in the field of higher education.

O達anion served for more than two decades as president of the League for Innovation in the Community College. During his tenure, the league痴 membership grew to 650 colleges and it became recognized as one of the most dynamic organizations in the community college world. He currently serves as senior fellow and Director of The Nature of Innovation in the Community College funded by the MetLife Foundation.

A respected author, O達anion has written 12 books and 135 articles on the community college, including A Learning College for the 21st Century, published in 1997 and now in its fourth printing. He has consulted in more than 800 community colleges in the United States and Canada and is one of the nation痴 leading experts on the Learning College.

Among his many accolades, O達anion has been honored by the National Institute for Leadership Development, the American Association of Community Colleges and the College Board, and received an honorary doctor of humane letters from Walden University in 2005. Three national awards recognize his 41 years of service to education:  The Terry O達anion Student Technology Award created by Microsoft, the Terry O達anion Prize for Teaching and Learning created by the Educational Testing Service, and the Terry O達anion Shared Journey Award created by the National Council on Student Development.
